Space Age Furniture: Curves, Chrome and Room Ideas

Rounded shapes, reflective accents and sculptural furniture: our digital Space Age concepts offer ideas for your home. The concepts are not products available to buy.

The Space Age Collection from Ateliology.com: sideboards, highboards, tables, and shelving at a glance
An Ateliology design study in pale curves, reflective accents and open niches.

What gives Space Age furniture its character?

Spheres, capsules and ovals shape the collection. Cabinet corners soften, table supports become full pedestals and dark openings stand out against pale surfaces. The contrast gives the pieces a playful but clearly organised appearance.

The visualisations suggest ivory finishes, chrome, smoked glass and warm bronze tones. Matt areas steady the composition while reflective details catch the light. These are material ideas for the concepts; final specifications would require further development.

Storage with its own silhouette

Rounded corners give the highboard a capsule-like outline. Glazed areas frame selected objects, while closed sections provide a quieter surface. The lower sideboard carries the same forms across a wider, horizontal body.

Tables between function and sculpture

The dining table draws attention to its central support and oval opening. The low coffee table explores a related shape with open storage. A useful idea for a real room is to balance an expressive table with simpler chairs and a quieter rug.

Coffee Table 01: low, monolithic coffee table with an integrated storage compartment

Shelving that leaves space to look through

Rounded compartments frame books, ceramics and collected objects. Leaving some niches empty keeps the rhythm visible. Group a few things deliberately rather than filling every surface.

Modular shelving made of stacked oval elements
Individual objects bring the rounded compartments into focus.
Asymmetric modular shelving with architectural niches
Open and closed areas establish a changing rhythm.

Bring a Space Age detail into your home

Start with a form you enjoy: a round chair, a lamp or a low table. Plain walls, a soft rug and timber can balance reflective finishes. Repeating a metal or accent colour elsewhere helps the combination feel connected.

The interest lies in pairing an unusual shape with things that already belong to your life. These studies offer a starting point for looking at furniture with fresh curiosity.
